Blonde doula from Maine

Birth & Postpartum

Juliette Camuso

My journey as a doula began in 2022, but the roots of this calling reach back nearly two decades. After the birth of my infant twins—while also caring for my two older children—I experienced the profound, steadying support of a postpartum doula. In a season that was both beautiful and overwhelming, that care left a lasting imprint on my heart. It showed me what is possible when someone is truly seen, held, and supported as they transition into parenthood.

Now, as a mother of four grown children and a practicing doula, I bring both lived experience and deep presence to the families I serve. I offer care that is nurturing, intuitive, and grounded—holding space for each birthing person and family with warmth, respect, and compassion. I believe that every journey into parenthood is unique and sacred, and I am honored to walk alongside people of all identities, backgrounds, and family structures as they welcome new life.

My work is guided by a genuine love for supporting families, an appreciation for the emotional and spiritual dimensions of birth and postpartum, and a commitment to helping each person feel empowered, cared for, and never alone in their experience.

Postpartum, Childbirth Education

Wendy McLoon

Wendy has had a passion for all things childbirth and postpartum related for most of her life. After the birth of her first child, she was on a mission to help other women move beyond fear and have confidence going into childbirth. She immediately began working toward becoming certified to teach childbirth classes and received her certification in 1996. In addition, she became part of a doula collaborative in the Philadelphia area where she focused on postpartum care. Much of this work was with women who had twins. Through her childbirth classes, she was introduced to the importance of movement and breathwork during pregnancy through yoga. So, she became a student of yoga for many years and eventually got certified to teach. She offered prenatal as well as Hatha yoga classes. Wendy then continued with an in-depth yoga education for an additional three years to earn her credential as a Yoga Therapist. She had an active practice in the Bangor area for several years helping people heal with chronic pain, anxiety, grief as well as preparation for major life events (birth, marriage, surgery, etc).  Now living in Southern Maine, Wendy is again focused on postpartum care as well as preparing couples for birth through childbirth education classes.

Laurie Wood

My name is Laurie Wood and I am passionate about supporting families through the incredible journey of childbirth and beyond. With a gentle touch and a compassionate heart, I’m here to ensure you feel empowered and cared for every step of the way.

Before becoming a doula, I spent 30 years as a public school educator, working closely with children and families through meaningful milestones. My own birth experiences—including the birth of my first child with the support of a midwife—deepened my belief in the need for compassionate, informed care. I know that birth can feel overwhelming or uncertain, and I believe women have a unique and powerful ability to support all birthing parents through it. As a doula, I bring warmth, calm, and a steady presence to help you feel safe, supported, and confident throughout your pregnancy and birth experience.

I have a blended family of six grown children and ten wonderful grandchildren who keep me closely connected to both the joys and challenges of raising children in today’s ever-changing world. Their presence in my life reminds me daily how each parenting journey is unique—and how important it is to feel supported, heard, and encouraged as a parent.
